Design Aim: The aim of this design proposal is to increase mahinga kai availability to provide easy access to nourishing food resources to reduce the food insecurity amongst whānau and their tamariki who live in the surrounding communities; and creates an educational experience that refl ects the identity of Ngāi Tūāhuriri/ Ngāi Tahu using mahinga kai.

Design Vision: To develop a sustainable design proposal for the Bexley community that channels Māori cultural values to evoke sensory experiences which will connect people to place through the practice of learning how to live off the land. This will be achieved by restoring the mental, physical and spiritual health and well-being of the land using design interventions to improve environmental health that will also benefi t the people.
