The 2011 earthquake has had a long term effect on both people and place. The lowering of some areas along the Avon river and now unstable ground surfaces has left a corridor not suitable for human occupation. With thousands retreating from the unstable land leaving their childhood homes and life long investments to be demolished the Redzone has been left vacant.

Centripetal flows aims to reinvent the Redzone and pull people back into its core, to once again create a lively environment where all ages and interests are entertained.

Aim: This design explores three different ways the Redzone can be utilized to bring people back into the area.
