Methven is a small town located on the edge of the Canterbury Plains that lie beneath the foothills
of the Southern Alps in the South Island. It is approximately 95km south-west of Christchurch and
34km north-west of Ashburton. With plenty of surrounding adventure and recreational opportunities to build on, Methven will become the base to adventure and relaxation holiday’s in South Canterbury.
Methven has the second fastest growing population in the Ashburton District. Future growth
is expected, as gateway communities become increasing popular places offering lifestyle
opportunities to raise a family, commence or expand business and retire.
